By rm BOFH (Paulo Köch) on 17/11/2005 (12:41 am)

Does anyone knows a company with so many ramifications? It’s Google Maps, Google Base, Google Video, Google Reader
Whats next? The moon?
The base is all theirs, no doubt on that! Can you deduce what’s next?

Who do you want to fucking kill today?

By rm BOFH (Paulo Köch) on 12/11/2005 (3:59 am)

Ok, knowing Steve Ballmer knows that fucking kill google might just not be that easy, he’s already looking for new targets to fucking kill.

Come on, can’t he just moderate himself?….

Leaking Internet Software Services

Just red something about Microsoft doing the spindoctor dance on purpose.
Pseudo-leaking to generate pseudo-hype is a thing from the past. And not too moral, they should be minded about that.
Anyway, here’s the letter and a quote (from osxcode).

Project Management Delivered to Your Ears

By rm BOFH (Paulo Köch) on (9:44 pm)

The PMPodcast is a show that features a lot of stuff related to PM Institutes and some to PM.
It’s host, Cornelius Fichtner, is a weird-accent fellow, generally very pleasing to hear to. He also maintains a weblog, but I’m still to read it.
If you have an iPod, some mindless work to do and you’re looking for interesting stuff to hear, check this one out.

His own self-brag:

The Project Management Podcast, an “internet radio show”, is hosted by Cornelius Fichtner, PMP and brings project management topics to beginners and experts. The show is an entertaining and educational mix of both current trends and best practices in project management. Using a podcatcher software such as iTunes or iPodder you can subscribe to the show and have it automatically downloaded to your MP3 player. No player? No problem! You can also just listen to the show on your computer speakers. Individual episodes and subscription links are available at http://pmpodcast.blogspot.com.

Ok, if a random Dean Allen I just came across on the web can do it, Microsoft is getting obsolete really fast.

See it happrning @ Textism: Word HTML Cleaner.

I’m going to fucking kill Bill

There is no such thing as a good reason for using Internet Explorer willingfully.
To those of you out there who still

  • are not aware of the “informational” danger, or
  • take crappy paid solution but not almost good free solution, or
  • you’re simply trying out your patience (either in a competition or just for the sheer fun of it)

just switch over to mozilla firefox! There’s many reasons for you to do so.
Please, think of the kittens. And web-developers.

For those of you rejoicing in hearing someone to encourage switching to mozilla firefox, consider taking more drastic measures.

I personally won’t change because I’m just too satisfied with my own standard browser (Safari) for going though the trouble of changing it.
But, not everyone uses a good OS and X like me (pun very intended).

This rutabaga is highly flexible

By rm BOFH (Paulo Köch) on (1:17 am)

When I was reading WordPress’ documentation I stumbled upon this:
Post Password

When you enter anything in this field the post will become password protected. A link to a “Protected” post will show up on the weblog, but in order to read it, a user will have to supply a password. This field will allow the post’s author to provide the password for the Protected post. This approach is highly flexible.

Well, this conclusion struck me a bit odd. But the again, from common knowledge comes:
Rutabaga

The rutabaga is a vegetable that, like many other, sprouts from the ground. This one does this in a particularly sad way, because everyone calls him a turnip. It is also known as the “Swedish turnip” or “yellow turnip”, and Scots call it the “neep” or just “turnip” — the vegetable known elsewhere as a turnip being called a “white turnip” in Scotland, and in the U.S., where rutabagas may also be called “yellow turnips.” In Newfoundland white turnips are relatively unknown, with rutabagas being known simply as turnips. No wonder this poor vegetable is rather confused, has an unmitigatedly feeling of lack of self image and is, generally, rather bored. This fellow is joyful.

One might just not agree with all the conclusion we encounter. Yet, we always manage to ridiculize them. And have a rather jolly time doing so

Spot the differences between Apple and Dell.
Just like everyone said, Apple should start thinking about real business and be more like… you know, Dell…

Hello f*cktards!

By rm BOFH (Paulo Köch) on 8/11/2005 (1:59 am)

This is an introductory post.

I’ve brought this blog up to have a simple place to spread out some ideas (like free software being mass-proprietary and open software being stuff that’s never good enough).
I’ve also invited a friend along, mv BOFH (João Vale, IRL). Trustworthy friend and fellow BOFH @ junifeup.pt, always providing some less absurd and moderated points of view than my own.

I guess that’s about it. Expect some rant really soon. More on everything else later.

PS: Isn’t f*cktard a lovely word?
